The current officeholder of Ward 3, when asked what he would do if Question 1 were to pass, is quoted as saying, “Right now, I pray to God it does not happen.”
I feel certain Councilor DeFillip meant every word, however, asking the almighty to help in such a circumstance is not always the best or only solution unfortunately.
When I read that, I personally knew that his opponent for the Ward 3 seat, Eric Samson, did not disagree about asking the almighty for assistance, but as a realistic young man, he knows it would take much more to overcome such a problem.
Eric Samson has given this and other matters concerning Auburn a great deal of thought. Not solely because he is my sibling, but having held office myself as a Lewiston councilor, we have discussed his positive outlook for the city he loves.
Eric Samson will serve the people of Ward 3 with diligence.
Paul Samson, Lewiston
