In the 1970s, we had a gasoline shortage. Long lines at the pumps. Prices up, and a price gouging investigation. They claimed not enough refineries. Again, the same thing in the 1980s.

Now the oil companies claim they could not build more refineries because of the environmentalists. Now they claim a higher demand because of China and the United States of America using more oil. They blame the war, hurricanes and, if Mount St. Helens blows its top, they will probably blame it.

Apparently, there is enough oil for everyone now, if they are willing to pay the outrageous prices. There must be plenty of refineries because no more have been built. But there’s no price gouging investigation by Congress. Maybe it’s because we have two oil men running the country in the White House?

Published reports tell us that gasoline in Iraq was selling for five cents a gallon. We take it out, refine it and truck it back to Iraq. It just does not add up.
