RUMFORD – Teresa P. Rania, 80, formerly of Boston, Mass., for many years, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, at her residence on Route 108, where she has resided with her niece, Teresa Petrie since Oct. 11.
She was born in Rumford, on March 25, 1924, a daughter of Carmello S. and Rosaria A. (Laugelli) Puiia, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1942.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church in Rumford, and St. Leonard’s Church when she resided in Boston.
For many years she worked at the Shawmut Bank in Boston as a human resource specialist.
She was married in Italy on Oct. 27, 1957, to the late Joseph Rania who died in Boston, Mass., Dec. 12, 1996.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Rose J. Reed, of Rumford; two brothers, Carmello J. “Joe” Puiia and wife, Pauline and Joseph A. “Tony” Puiia, both of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas J. Puiia.
