NEW VINEYARD – A Stratton woman was shaken up on Tuesday morning when her car collided with a trailer being hauled by a pickup truck on Route 27, police said.

Gene Shanz, 56, of Temple was traveling north on Route 27 in a 2000 Ford truck hauling a trailer, when he made a left turn onto Staples Road and failed to yield to a southbound car, State Trooper Mathew Casavant said.

Jennifer Chase, 47, of Stratton struck the trailer with her 1994 Chevrolet and totaled her car, he said.

Chase was shaken up and treated at the scene by LifeStar medics, he said.

The truck and trailer were not damaged, Casavant said.

Farmington and New Vineyard firefighters responded to the scene to direct traffic and clean up, he said.
