RUMFORD – The SAD 43 board will act on whether to continue the kindergarten-through-grade-5 structure of the district’s elementary schools, and decide on several policies Monday.
Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the library of Mountain Valley High School.
During a discussion at the last meeting of a possible change in use of Virginia Elementary School, the board leaned toward maintaining programs for kindergarten through grade 5 at Rumford and Meroby elementary schools.
A special meeting devoted to a possible new use of Virginia Elementary School has been scheduled for Nov. 16. Suggested uses include setting up the Day Treatment program and alternative education program at the 50-year-old school.
Also on Monday, the board will take final action on policies that govern administering medication to students, and rules for allowing students to sign out laptop computers.
Appointments include Eric Lachance as a special education teacher, and Kathy Sutton as adviser to Kids on the Block.
Administrative reports will be given by the high school and middle school principals, and by the director of buildings, grounds and transportation.
A closed session is scheduled at the end of the meeting to discuss the process for evaluating the superintendent.
