Headlines: DHS loses $145 million, management remains the same. Angus King finds $53 million rainy day fund, spends on laptops. Total $198 million. Legislators give themselves yet another raise. Auburn and Lewiston buy expensive commercial property to build concrete Meccas by the smelly Androscoggin.

If the DHS and Rainy Day Fund money was lost, how come it took so long to find? Answer: Over budget. Officials lose it and find it years later? Then the government has too much. If I lost $1,400, I would feel it, let alone millions. We pay for the gap.

Every person whose job is on the block is telling others how to vote. This is about control, and the people are supposed to have it. We blew a chance at free money from the casino. Our hardworking government said the free casino money was not enough, but yet we continue letting in huge Wal-Marts with tax breaks and land incentives to run out other better-paying business. Wal-Mart does bring a lot of $6.50 an hour jobs though.

The apocalypse will not start in Maine with a tax cap. California is still intact.

Maybe we can say 20 years from now that 20 years ago, we could have made a difference and kept Maine lobstermen in their Maine homes, or kept our lakefront homes in the kids’ possesion.

Please do not force us young families to live in an old trailer two hours from work.
