Sen. Bruce Bryant is a leader for quality education in Maine. Sen. Bryant’s interest starts with his own children, who attend SAD 21 schools. He is first and above all a good parent, attentive to his children’s education.

He recognizes the state’s responsibility to fund education at the 55 percent level is vital to helping the students in this area receive the same quality education as the students who attend public schools in southern Maine. He has fought to implement this voter-mandated decision.

Sen. Bryant has reservations concerning the federal mandates of the No Child Left Behind Act, especially the lack of funding. Like the educational community, he sees this act as a mandate with good intent that is in need of changes and must be fully funded.

Quality education is the backbone of our democratic society. Sen. Bryant is a leader for quality education for all of Maine’s children.
