RUMFORD – The Pennacook Art Center has scheduled its first gallery talk for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, on “What makes a Good Painting?”

The basic elements of painting will be discussed, including composition, light, color and brushwork. Paintings in the gallery will be used for examples. This will be the first in a series of informative talks offered by the gallery.

The talk is free and open to the public. All people are welcome to attend, whether they’re beginning painters, professionals or art lovers. Pennacook Art Center is at 82 Congress St. on Rumford’s Shopper’s Island.
