We humans are a peculiar animal. On the one hand, the president can inform us that we have captured three-fourths of the terrorist leadership and we accept it as Gospel in spite of what we know about the quality of our “intelligence.”

On the other hand, we treat a woman from Topsham like a pariah because she initiates a proposal to deal with government spending, which everyone agrees is out of control.
