Knowledge is power. Obtaining a quality education is the key to the success for our children. Rep. Elaine Makas of Lewiston has spent many hours working to improve the schools of our city. Beginning with her long-term commitment to Head Start, continuing to support funding to help teachers aid their students to achieve higher standards on the Maine Learning Results and taking on the federal government and its ill-conceived and seriously underfunded No Child Left Behind program.
She has striven to assure our children that they will be able to compete with the best from other states for college placement. If an excellent education in our public schools is important to you, vote for Elaine Makas to the Legislature.
