LIVERMORE FALLS – Two Livermore Falls men were arrested Thursday and charged with robbery in connection with a home invasion and robbery last month in Lewiston.

One of the men was still being held Monday on $10,000 cash bail at an Auburn jail.

Jesse Hiscock, 23, and Robert Sands, 35, both listing addresses at 8 Sewall St. in Livermore Falls, were arrested by Lewiston police with the assistance of the Central Maine Violent Crimes Task Force in Livermore Falls, according to a press release.

The men are accused of entering the Lewiston home on Oct. 20, armed with a handgun and stealing cash and a purse from the resident, police stated.

The purse has been recovered and returned to the owner.

In addition to the robbery charge, Sands was charged with a probation violation.

The men were taken to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.

Hiscock’s bail was initially set at $20,000 cash but was reduced to $1,000 cash bail after he appeared before a judge, a jail worker said.

Hiscock posted bail Friday, Oct. 29.

Sands was still in custody Monday. His bail on the robbery charge was also initially set at $20,000 cash bail but was reduced to $10,000 cash after a court appearance.

Details of the arrests are being withheld pending further investigation, the press release stated.
