PORTLAND – The Maine Freeze, Maine’s four-year-old affiliate in the National Women’s Football Association, will hold tryouts for its 2005 team Sunday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Portland’s Fitzpatrick Stadium.
The tryout is open to women aged 18 and older, and 16-to-17 with parental permission. Cost of the three-hour tryout is $35 per person. Participants should bring workout clothing and shoes, identification and proof of insurance.
Freeze owner/general manager Toby Bryant says the team is seeking women, with or without football experience, who are interested in a competitive team sport.
The Freeze opens its 2005 season in April with an eight-game schedule that includes four home games at Fitzpatrick Stadium and appearances in Boston, Philadelphia and two sites yet to be announced.
