BETHEL – A group of wellness practitioners are sponsoring a lecture series from 7 to 8 p.m. each month at Crescent Park Elementary School in Bethel. The schedule is as follows: Nov. 12, “The Spirit of Self-Healing”; Dec. 10, “Relaxing the Body, Mind and Spirit with Meditation and Reiki”; Jan. 14, “The Journey Through Depression” with Janet Willie; Feb.11, “What’s Up With Crystals”; and March 11, “The Journey Home.” The practitioners’ hope is that it will be a catalyst for discovering new ways of inviting balance and wholeness into one’s life.
Norway art show
NORWAY – Fare Share Commons Art Collective will present double vision paintings by Om Devi Reynolds and photographs by Debra Wentworth at an opening from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Fare Share Commons, 447 Main St. The artists’ work will be on display from Nov. 6 to Nov. 27. Gallery hours are Thursday and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and open daily through the Fare Share Market.
Om Devi Reynolds received a bachelor’s degree of fine arts in art and design from Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a founding member of the Emeryville Artists Cooperative in Emeryville, Calif., and also of AR2, a collective of abstract painters in Santa Fe, N.M.
She lives in Casco with her husband, Eric Dibner. Reynolds paints, primarily in an abstract mode, in oil on canvas, acrylics on canvas and paper, and Sumie ink on paper and cloth.
Wentworth is an amateur photographer. Primarily self-taught, she has taken intensive workshops at Maine Photographic Workshops and has worked with a mentor for several years. The majority of her work, both color and black and white, is shot in 35mm. Most of the images are simple and focus on details.
Public supper
PARIS – A public supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m Saturday, Nov. 6, at the South Paris Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on East Main Street to raise funds for the 133rd Engineer Battalion’s homecoming party. The menu will include turkey, stuffing, potato, squash, peas, rolls and pies. Cost will be $6. For information contact Priscilla Hebert at 207-966-2900.
