Dear Sun Spots: On or about Aug. 11 of this year, you printed a recipe for meatballs with cranberry sauce. I misplaced my paper and it was thrown out. Could you please reprint the recipe? I believe it was in Cook of the Week. Thank you. – Roberta Mason, Turner.

Answer: Sun Spots believes you are referring to the Cook of Week feature by Marie Rossiter featuring Amanda Leclerc of Greene. The following recipe was included with the feature and hopefully you and your family will enjoy this. It looks like it would be perfect for holiday entertaining:

Cranberry meatballs. Ingredients: Meatballs: 2 pounds lean ground beef, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons minced onion, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons salt, ¼ teaspoon pepper, bread crumbs. Sauce: 1 can cranberry sauce, ½ cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 bottle (12 ounces) chili sauce, 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Method: Combine meatball ingredients in large bowl. Combine sauce ingredients in a Crock-Pot. Form meatballs and add to pot. Cook on low overnight, or all day.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for a shower head. It is round, like a doughnut with a space in the middle for your head. I had one years ago that was for use for those who couldn’t get soap in their eyes but I’ve been unable to find one lately. Any help would be appreciated. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: Sun Spots has checked several pharmacies and other medical equipment supply stores, however none seems to recognize the product you are looking for. Sun Spots also checked some online catalogues for hard-to-find items but also had no success. Perhaps there’s a reader out there who has used this particular type of shower head and may be able to assist you. Otherwise, Sun Spots would encourage you to try a hand-held one that clips onto the sink or bath taps.

Dear Sun Spots: This is in response to the person who was trying to remove wallpaper:

Consider yourself lucky that there was sizing behind it. I have just finished removing paper from just about every wall in an old house. These walls didn’t even have primer. The commercial product Sun Spots mentioned works. However, you can get the same benefit by mixing water with fabric softener, which is much cheaper. It also helps to keep wetting the area being scraped with a paintbrush dipped in the water-softener mixture. Scoring the old paper is also very important as it does let the liquid dissolve the old glue. – Ellie Leight, Poland.

Dear Sun Spots: The annual craft fair in Turner Center will be held Nov. 11. The Turner Center Universalist Church has tables available for $15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please contact Bunny Gilbert at (207) 225-3368 for more information. – Bunny Gilbert, Turner.
