TOM’S RIVER, N.J. – Parker W. Daye, 74, died at his home in Tom’s River, N.J., on Nov. 1, after a long illness.

Born in Bethel, Nov. 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Philip W. and Nellie Jodrey Daye.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded five Bronze Stars for bravery.

Mr. Daye, a carpenter by trade, was self-employed for many years, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his companion of 20 years, Geri Soden; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Soden, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., and William and Stacey Soden, of Tom’s River, N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jeffrey Linke, of Kenbridge, Va.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers; six sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes in 1980, two sisters, one brother, and a grandson, William Soden Jr.
