OXFORD – Midcoast-based Christian band Josiah’s Creed will play a mixture of rock, pop and contemporary worship music at Hosanna Church in a concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13.

The band started in 2002 with four musicians from midcoast Maine. The following year saw the addition of two more band members, several opportunities to perform and, eventually, a ministry that became known as Josiah’s Creed.

“We have always had two main priorities: sharing the truth of the Gospel message and worshipping our God and Savior,” says vocalist and keyboard player Jenny Goode. “Around those we weave lots of good, rocking music that points to the one who gives us life. Our concerts are entertaining but always lead to worship, because that is where our hearts are centered.”

Members of the band say they believe they offer something for any one who will listen. “As a band we have been challenged to ignite the passion of both Christians and non-Christians for Christ,” says Goode. “We know that there are churches across the United States who are praying for revival in New England. We want to be part of God’s work in our region.”

The band takes Old Testament king Josiah as its model for restoring the soul of a nation. Josiah recognized spiritual revival could only occur with the knowledge of God’s word and worship.

Josiah’s Creed is also made up of Adam Hanson, drummer; Scott Harris, guitar, vocals; Jim Harding, guitar, vocals; Nate Chute, keyboards; and Danny Grover, bass.

There is no admission but donations for the band will be accepted. The church is located at 129 School House Road.
