Ordination

NEW VINEYARD – Mountain View Bible Church will conduct an ordination ceremony for Pastor Richard Dubuc at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, at the church.

Members of Mountain View invite other churches in the area to attend the ceremony. There will be a fellowship time after the ceremony in the new Fellowship Room at the church. The church also plans to host a special speaker, Jamie Charles, at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14. Charles will give a presentation on her work in Haiti. The public is welcome to attend.

Hurricane benefit

FARMINGTON – A communitywide silent auction, titled “Time, Talent and Treasure,” to benefit the victims of Hurricane Jeanne in Haiti, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, in the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Area church and community members will donate gifts of their time and talents for auction, in addition to numerous items such as a collection of Red Sox baseball cards, original art, ski passes and gift certificates.

Alzheimer’s group

WILTON – Liz Weaver, Maine Alzheimer’s Association program director, will speak at the next meeting of the Conversation Series about Memory Loss and Dementia from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at SeniorsPlus Community Building on Routes 2 and 4.

The topic will be communication and dealing with challenging behaviors. There is no charge for the program, which is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association in collaboration with the Healthy Community Coalition, Franklin Resource Network and SeniorsPlus. For more information, call 1-800-660-2871.
