HARTFORD – Signs will soon be going up around Hartford to let potential burglars know a crime watch group is active.

The Hartford Community Crime Watch Committee on Oct. 20 met with Capt. James Miclon of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.

“He spoke to us about ways we can keep our homes secure and network with our neighbors,” Selectman Lee Holman said. Holman said the Hartford Board of Selectmen approved the crime watch committee, and she has been attending the meetings.

“Every area in town is covered by folks who are active participants in this,” Holman said.

She expects neighborhood crime watch signs to be erected later this month.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 8 and is open to Hartford and Canton residents.
