RAYMOND – Mark “Doc” Drinkwater of Raymond, who has performed at the Midnight Blues Club in Auburn, Getches in Turner and other venues in the Lewiston-Auburn area, has recorded a CD. Titled “It’s Not Too Late,” the CD released by The Artist Group Studios of Yarmouth features guest appearances by musicians and CD producers Bill Chinnock and John Kumnick.

Besides completing his first album, Drinkwater, who performs under the name “Doc” Drinkwater’s Good Medicine Show, was one of five featured artists/groups from Maine on a compilation CD titled “Notes From Home.”

One hundred copies of the CD were sent to Maine soldiers serving overseas to help boost morale. Each artist contributed two songs. One of Drinkwater’s songs, “Home of the Brave,” took third place in the Patriotic Songwriting category at this year’s Pine Tree State Country Music Association’s talent show. Drinkwater also placed second in two other categories: Modern Male Vocalist of the Year and Modern Male Entertainer of the Year.

The songs he writes “have a spiritual inspiration and they reflect on all the life experiences he has had, both musically and emotionally,” Drinkwater said. While the songs on the CD have a pop feel, they run the gamut from rock to country, jazz to blues, rock-a-billy and even R&B.

Drinkwater, who recently purchased a guitar crafted by Dana Bourgeois of Lewiston, has worked in the Lewiston-Auburn area in the social service field for 12 years. He currently works for Good Times Magazine, an entertainment publication; and he owns a sales/marketing business called Lighthouse Enterprises. He has been involved in the music industry in various capacities, from music sales and promotion and to performing, for most of his life.

The “It’s Not Too Late” CD may be purchased through Bull Moose Music stores. For more information, go to www.docdrinkwater.com.
