SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) – Adam Henrich’s goal 2:58 seconds into sudden-death overtime capped a five-goal comeback for Springfield, giving the Falcons a 6-5 win over the Portland Pirates on Friday night.
Portland, which scored five unanswered goals, took a 5-1 lead on Graham Mink’s goal at 11:18 of the second period.
After Evgeni Artukhin broke the scoreless streak for Springfield at 16:39 of the second period, the Falcons reeled off three more goals. Shane Willis scored twice in the third, the second coming with an extra skater and 13 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
Shaone Morrisonn Brooks Laich and Jakub Klepis scored for Portland.
