LEWISTON – A surprise party was held recently for Robert and Janice Connors of Lewiston, on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary.

The event, planned by daughters and sons-in-law, Harvey and Maureen Poussard, and Stephen and Eileen Belleau, was held poolside at the home of Stephen and Eileen Belleau in Lewiston.

The couple drank a toast from the same silver cup used at their wedding 40 years ago.

Mr. Connors and the former Janice A. Dehetre were married on June 20, 1964, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston.

In addition to their two children, they have seven grandchildren, Heather, Hillary, Preston, Cameron and Garrett Poussard, and Lauren and Maggie Belleau. They also have a great-granddaughter, Riley Rose Poussard.

Mrs. Connors is a homemaker, caring for her grandchildren.

Mr. Connors is a retired Lewiston school superintendent and is current interim assistant superintendent in Bath.
