OXFORD – Work needed on the Welchville dam was estimated to cost $20,000 to $40,000 by Tom Cushman, during the Board of Selectmen meeting Thursday night.

Town Manager Michael Chammings informed the board that 60 bags of sand were recently used to repair holes in the dam and that repair job was not done.

Everyone agreed this was just the start to repairs the dam needs. Chammings noted because of how large the area is that needs repairs, the town will need several DEP permits. Town officials also agreed to wait for a report on the condition of the dam before applying for permits.

Snowmobile grant

OXFORD – A grant may assist the Rock-O-Dundee Riders in preparing trails for snowmobile riding this season. The selectmen approved the grant application during their meeting last week.

Fire department funds

OXFORD – The Selectman approved a $500 Safe Neighborhood Grant awarded to the fire department, during their meeting Thursday. The grant will go into the fire department equipment reserve account, according to Town Manager Michael Chammings.

Committee vacancies

OXFORD – Town Manager Michael Chammings informed selectmen there are open positions on the Cemetery Committee, during their meeting last week. Residents interested in volunteering for the committee need to contact the town office.
