HARTFORD – The Board of Selectmen approved the warrant for the special town meeting to be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Town Hall.
Chairman Scott Swain presented the warrant, as modified at the last board meeting, to Selectman Lee Holman on Saturday morning. Selectman Laura Marston was not present.
The first article asks voters to change the positions of town clerk, tax collector, treasurer and assistant to the selectmen from appointed to elected effective with the 2005 annual town meeting election.
The second asks authorization for the monthly potluck suppers to be affiliated with the town and use tax dollars to pay for operating the Town Hall for the suppers.
The third asks for authorization to take money from the fund balance to pay for curbside pickup for the Pine Shores subdivision.
Voters will also be asked to authorize moving money from the fund balance to the administration account to pay for training a new deputy town clerk and treasurer.
The fifth question asks for approval of an ordinance establishing the Comprehensive Planning Board as a full-time board.
The last question is a vote on the Hazard Mitigation Plan required by the state.
