OXFORD – Sen. Susan Collins was the featured guest at the “Oktoberfest” for the Oxford County Republicans on Oct. 11. The fund-raiser was held at the home of Rep. Ted and Eleanor Heidrich.

The Bridgton German Band played an assortment of traditional German music, while guests dined on knockwurst, sauerkraut and potato salad.

Local Republican candidates were on hand for the occasion, as well as representatives for congressional candidate Brian Hamel and President George W. Bush.

Collins recently finished a congressional session that focused on the reorganization of the national intelligence agencies.

Local candidates present included Rob Cameron, Senate District 14; Arlan Jodrey, House District 91; Randy Hotham, House District 93; Paula Smith, House District 92.

David Hastings, Senate District 13; Sawin Millett, House District 95; Bruce Hanley, House District 94; Richard Sykes, House District 98; Jim Hamper, House District 100, Steve Merrill, Oxford County commissioner; and Tom Winsor, register of probate.
