GORHAM – There will be a fan bus going to the Mountain Valley High School football game in Gorham on Saturday, Nov. 13. Fans may reserve a seat by paying at the high school main office on Tuesday or Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for students. Ski area food drive

NEWRY – Sunday River’s annual Tin Mountain Roundup, where food and supplies are donated to a local charity in exchange for discounts on lift tickets, is Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13 and 14. Skiers and riders who donate at least three cans of food or paper products and toiletries receive $20 lift tickets. In the past, season pass holders have donated items for the event as well. Last year, the resort was able to donate more than 700 cans of food to the District Exchange, the Bethel region’s program to help those in need. Local students helped to stock the shelves and will likely do so this year as well.

The demands on the pantry become busier in the weeks prior to the holiday season according to its volunteers. The Tin Mountain Round Up is a program of the Ski Maine Association.
