LIVERMORE FALLS – Eight tires were slashed and dozens of hay bales were cut open in a rash of criminal mischief complaints.
The slashed tires were on vehicles parked on Knapp, Bemis and High streets, Richardson Avenue and behind the Chuck Wagon Restaurant on Main Street, Livermore Falls Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
The complaints started coming in Friday and were still being reported Monday morning, he said.
Police officers noticed some of the slashed tires while on routine patrol, Steward said.
Someone broke a window at a barn on Jones Street and cut 50 to 75 bales of hay open and pushed 20 of the bales out of the barn, Steward said.
Both cases are under investigation, he added.
