LEWISTON – Dial a Greek Pastry will be held again this year at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 155 Hogan Road. To place an order for the pastry, call 784-7107, 784-0795 or 783-0089. Orders will be taken until Saturday, Nov. 13.

The pastries offered will be as follows:

Baklava: Buttered filo dough (paper thin leaves of specially made dough) layered with a filling consisting of spices and finely chopped walnuts. It is baked until it is crisp and golden. While warm the pastry is smothered with a honey syrup and cut into triangles; $1.25 each.

Finikia: The honeyed cake-type cookies are baked until they are brown, moist and fragrant with spices. They are dipped in honey syrup, then sprinkled with crushed nuts; 85 cents each.

Kourambiedes: The cookies are made with unsalted butter, baked until golden brown, then blanketed with powdered sugar; 85 cents each.

Flogeres: A mixture of egg, ground walnuts, sugar and cinnamon wrapped in strips of buttered filo dough, baked until golden brown, then dipped into a syrup of sugar and water; $1 each.

Tiropitas: The crispy cheese triangles are made with imported feta cheese and other white cheeses, eggs and wrapped with strips of buttered filo dough. They have been quickly frozen. When ready to serve, bake and present warm; tray of eight, $5.

Gift Box: A box of assorted pastries packaged in a holiday box. The box will contain six pieces of baklava, six pieces of kourambiedes and five finikia; each box, $15.

Orders can be picked up at the church from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20.
