RUMFORD – Black Mountain of Maine and the River Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the inaugural Fall 5K Trail Race and youth 1K Koch Race on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Black Mountain of Maine. It will be run through the woods and over the Nordic cross country trails and will provide a great competition for fall cross country runners, Nordic & alpine skiers and others who want to try a trail race. Cemetery meeting

PERU – The Peru Historical Society and the Peru Cemetery Committee will co-host an informational meeting with Cheryl Patten, president of the Maine Old Cemeteries Association as speaker. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Rockemeka Grange Hall. Light refreshments will be served. Patten will bring information on what MOCA is and give ways to preserve old cemeteries in town.
