JAY – School Committee members Thursday appointed resident Joel Pike to fill a vacant committee seat until the April 2005 town meeting.
Pike was one of the three candidates to apply for the position vacated by Amy Pineau in October when she moved to another town. The other two candidates were David Nemi and Henry Bryant.
Superintendent Bob Wall announced a budget time line for fiscal 2006 during the meeting, Business Manager Deb Holland said.
Building and supervisor budgets are due at the superintendent’s office on Friday, Dec. 17.
Budget review meetings with Wall and Holland are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 20, and Tuesday, Dec. 21.
On Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, an overview of the budget will be given to the School Committee.
There will be no budget books at the meeting, which will be held after the committee meeting.
Budget review sessions with the School Committee, town Budget Committee, administrators, business manager and superintendent are scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 19, Jan. 20, and Jan. 27, 2005, at the Middle School cafeteria.
School Committee members are expected to vote on the budget Feb. 3, 2005.
The final Budget Committee review is slated for 6 p.m. Feb. 10, 2005, at the Middle School library.
The Budget Committee is scheduled to vote on the school warrant articles at that time.
