AUBURN – Raymond J. Maheux of Auburn died Monday, Nov. 8, at Odd Fellows Home following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston, June 11, 1930, the son of Marie Ange Pomerleau and Emile Maheux. He was married to Carmel Marchand who died in 1996. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division Band.

He brought his musical talents to Sacred Heart Church in Auburn where he was organist and choir director for 40 years. During his later years, he was also choir director and organist at the Sixth Street Congregational Church in Auburn.

He moved to the Odd Fellows assisted care facility in Auburn in 2001, where he shared his caring manner and talents with the staff and residents. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Remember Me Award from the Maine Health Care Association in Augusta on April 2, 2003. His life was marked by music and humor which he shared freely.

He is survived by three children, Lucille, Paul and David and his wife, Amy, and a sister, Theresa Stasick. He was predeceased by a brother, Lucien.
