PARIS – A former longtime SAD 43 employee will answer to a charge of felony theft on Friday, Nov. 19, in Oxford County Superior Court.

Timothy J. McInnis, 52, of Rumford, was indicted on March 18 by an Oxford County grand jury on a charge of embezzling more than $10,000 from SAD 43 and Mountain Valley High School in Rumford from 2000 to 2003.

McInnis was employed by SAD 43 for more than 30 years, and was the district’s athletic director for the last 17 years.

If convicted of the Class B felony, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

McInnis was placed on administrative leave in mid-January after school officials reportedly found discrepancies in McInnis’s athletic department account.

He resigned Feb. 2 and has been free on personal recognizance bail since being indicted.
