PARIS – Foster-Carroll Post, American Legion, Auxiliary has 106 members paid up on dues with 20 more owing.

The unit assisted Secretary Marilyn Ramsay host the craft fair at the Western Maine Veterans Home to benefit the home’s activity fund.

The Legion held the everlasting ceremony on Nov. 7, honoring the memory of several recently deceased members. The unit served refreshments after follow the flag-burning ceremony.

On Nov. 10 the Auxiliary birthday supper was served by the Legion men and women. Years of service certificates (in units of five years) were presented after the supper.

Men and women of Post and Unit 72 will participate in the Nov. 11 Veterans Day parade. Step-off time will be 9:30 a.m. at the courthouse after groups meet there at 9. The parade will end at the Legion Hall on Church Street with the unit serving doughnuts and hot coffee or hot chocolate to the public.

A holiday Chinese auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13. Doors will open for bidding at 3 p.m. with a drawing after the 5 p.m. harvest supper. Members are asked to meet at 8 a.m. to prepare the boiled corn beef supper and set-up.

There will be other events announced later by the post and unit. Unit members host Monday Bingo for the Western Maine Veterans Home residents and work the Tuesday night food bar at the Paris Legion bingo hall.
