LEWISTON – Jacques S. Maranda, 57, of 12 Merton Blvd., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a long illness.
Born in Canada, Sept. 1, 1947, the son of Lucien and Noella (Trepanier) Maranda, he had been a resident of this community for most of his life.
He was employed in the local shoe industry as an industrial machinist, until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church. Mr. Maranda enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jeanne Poulin, of Lewiston, whom he married on July 2, 1966; one son, Lucien Maranda, of Lewiston; one daughter, Mona Frechette and her husband, Michael, of Greene; one sister, Marlene Maranda, of Texas; and one granddaughter, Marie Frechette, of Greene.
