I am appalled by the Rex Rhoades column in the Sun Journal (Nov 7). Rhoades’ diatribe against the re-election of George W. Bush was not only insulting to every American that voted for him, but also a perfect example of Democratic Bush-haters.
To compare our president to the Taliban, mullahs and “jihadists” was more than insulting. To claim that Bush and the “red states” are not interested in unity and will conduct a “jihad” is reprehensible. To use any of these terms in the context that Rhoades used them is an insult to the majority – yes, the majority – of Americans who voted for President Bush.
Mr. Rhoades should remember that word. Majority. It eluded Bill Clinton. That scoundrel never received a majority from the American people. Why? Because he, like Rhoades and other liberal Democrats, is in lockstep with the hate agenda, caused by Democrats’ loss of power in the U.S. government that they held and abused for two generations. Liberals will do and say anything to recover that power, whether truthful or not. John Kerry did exactly that during the campaign and the majority rejected it and him.
Rhoades and other liberals are out of touch with the majority of Americans. That kind of hate speech was rejected by right-minded Democrats as well as Republicans. That is why Democrats lost this election.
In my opinion, Rhoades is a poor American and a poor loser.
