LOWELL, Mass. (AP) – Derek Damon scored two goals, including the game-winner, to give Maine a 5-4 win over UMass-Lowell on Saturday night.

UMass-Lowell (4-3, 0-3 Hockey East) held a one-goal lead four times in the game, but each time Maine evened the score.

Maine (7-6, 3-3) tied the game at 4-4 on Tim Maxwell’s power-play goal at 2:04 of the third period. Damon scored his second goal of the game at 13:09 to give Maine the win.

Jason Tejchma scored two goals to lead UMass-Lowell, and Ben Walter and Danny O’Brien added scores.

John Ronan, Tim Maxwell and Wes Clark also scored goals for Maine.

Peter Vetri made 23 saves for UMass-Lowell. Jimmy Howard made 13 saves to earn the win for Maine.
