ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Authorities are investigating a series of burglaries involving the theft of cigarettes at gas stations.
More than $5,000 worth of cigarettes have been stolen from at least five stations since Oct. 8, when 43 cartons of cigarettes worth $2,000 were taken during an early-morning burglary.
Police agencies from around the Seacoast and southern Maine met last month to share information and release a photograph from a store-security camera of the suspect.
Cameras at several locations captured the image of a man described as a white male between 20 and 30 years old, average height, thin build, and with brown hair and either sideburns or facial hair.
MILTON, N.H. (AP) – A man wanted in Maine was arrested in New Hampshire during the weekend after leading police on a chase through both states.
Authorities in Milton arrested Brian Glidden, 20, of Lebanon, Maine, after he and a passenger fled from a York County sheriff’s deputy around 1 a.m. Saturday.
The passenger was taken into protective custody and was not identified by police.
Police said the pursuit ended in an arrest at gunpoint outside a Milton home. No shots were fired. Authorities said Glidden faces a felony charge in Maine, but did not provide additional details.
KEENE, N.H. (AP) – Authorities are searching for a man they say assaulted a woman in her home during the weekend.
Police said Paul Hartnett, 33, of Keene, faces three charges accusing him of grabbing the woman Saturday evening, throwing her down and stopping her when she tried to leave.
