BETHEL – The winner of the House District 91 race is expected to be named after a recount in Augusta at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, Deputy Secretary of State Doug Dunbar said.
Incumbent state Rep. Arlan Jodrey bested political newcomer Timothy Carter by 56 votes in the official tally. But because the margin between the candidates was 1.04 percent, Carter requested the recount.
Both candidates are friends and both live in Bethel.
The district comprises the communities of Bethel, Dallas Plantation, portions of East Central Franklin Township, Eustis, Gilead, Hanover, Kingfield, Lincoln Plantation, Magalloway Plantation, Milton Plantation, Newry, portions of North Franklin Township, portions of North Oxford Township, Rangeley, portions of South Oxford Township, Stoneham, Upton and Woodstock.
