FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington will host the Clean Conscience Holiday Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in UMF’s Olsen Student Center.
The annual event is an opportunity to purchase clothing and accessories, many of which are produced by local businesses, from individuals and companies who treat their workers fairly. UMF’s policy on Good Purchasing Practices mandates that business be done in a manner that upholds the rights and dignity of workers, and the university attempts to make its purchases from companies that do the same.
There will be a fashion show at noon, and vendors’ tables will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The Clean Conscience Holiday Fair is sponsored by the UMF Purchasing Practice Policy Committee and the UMF Center for Student Involvement. More information may be obtained by calling the UMF Women’s Studies Center at 778-7387.
