PARIS – A Rumford man was convicted Oct. 25 on a charge of misdemeanor assault and sentenced to a term in the Oxford County Jail.
Alvah Burton Pike IV, 23, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of assault and was sentenced to 30 days in jail by Judge Roland A. Cole in Oxford County Superior Court.
According to court records, Pike was initially arrested by Oxford County Deputy Chancey Libby after being indicted in mid-March for aggravated assault, a Class B felony.
The charge stemmed from an incident that occurred on Feb. 27 at a South Paris residence.
Pike is to report to the county jail at 9 a.m. on Jan. 15 to begin serving his sentence.
