PARIS – A pile of applications have come in for the town manager opening and selectmen will meet Tuesday to begin narrowing the field of candidates.
“I believe there were 32 (applications),” interim Town Manager Elisa Whiteley said. The applications have come from Maine and beyond, she said. Whiteley did not know whether any of the applicants are local.
The town started advertising for the position shortly after Town Manager Steve McAllister announced his resignation at a Sept. 27 meeting.
Advertisements for the full-time position ran in regional newspapers for a week and on the Maine Municipal Association’s Web site for one month. Applications were accepted until Nov. 5, Whiteley said.
“I haven’t heard of a hire date as of this point,” she said, noting that the selectmen have quite a few candidates to weed through.
The meeting Tuesday will be held at 4 p.m. in the town office. Whiteley said the meeting is expected to take place entirely in executive session.
