BANGOR (AP) – Three Maine Army National Guard troops suffered minor wounds during a mortar attack in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, WABI-TV reported Thursday.
The three, all assigned to the 133rd Engineer Battalion, were wounded Wednesday morning and were back on duty the next day.
One of the wounded was Michael Francis of Indian Island, who notified his wife, Debra, in an e-mail, the station said.
Maj. Peter Rogers, a National Guard spokesman in Augusta, said the names of the other wounded men were not being released because their injuries were light.
