WATERVILLE – The Colby College women’s cross country team placed in the top 10 of the national rankings for the first time this season. The White Mules head to Saturday’s NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wis., to demonstrate whether the ranking is correct.
Deb Aitken, the NESCAC Coach of the Year, and team members Karina Johnson, Anna King, Jess Minty, Elizabeth Petit, Elizabeth Turner, Karen Prisby and Hillary Easter of Jay will make the trip to Wisconsin.
Colby jumped from the 16th position in the rankings to ninth after finishing ahead of then fifth-ranked Amherst College, while taking third place at the NCAA Division III New England Qualifier last Saturday at Cumberland Center.
