The Sun Journal Nov. 14 front-page article on the Ryan Quinn accident made me extremely sad. The Quinn family certainly appears to have suffered a great loss. The two young sisters will miss a big brother, the mom and dad lost their first born.

Ryan made a big mistake and paid the ultimate price.

Now a lawyer and the Quinn family will make the police officer, his supervisor, the chief of police, the city administration, state police, townspeople, legislators and an insurance company pay their share.

That’s a shame.

The Quinns should console and assist the officer involved. He will carry that memory around with him for the rest of his life. He’ll look at his children or other children in a whole new light.

There is no forgiveness due here. Just hurt people helping each other.
