I would like to respond to the letter from Patrick Travers (Nov.12) criticizing the Sun Journal for the story about the tragic motorcycle accident in Turner on Nov.9.

Anyone who read the story certainly has sympathy for the family and friends of Steve Adams Jr. It’s sad when these things happen but, as a parent of a young driver, I don’t hesitate to point out this article and the consequences to my son of reckless behavior behind the wheel. I think the story – as reported – not only informs but is educational in its horrible way.

To be sure, the story was graphic and the picture was telling, but I approve on both counts.
