BIDDEFORD – Rita A. Marcotte, 83, of Pool St., died Saturday, Nov. 13, at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility following a long illness.

She was born March 2, 1921, in Sabattus, a daughter of Henry and Matilda Fortin Gladu and was educated in Sabattus schools.

She was a homemaker, enjoying summers at Thompson Lake and skiing with her family and friends at Sugarloaf Mountain. She made her home on College Street in Lewiston, wintering in Florida, later in life.

She was a kind woman who will be remembered for her compassion for others, her love of life and laughter, her caring nature and gentile soul.

She never had a harsh word for anyone; was always accepting, generous and forgiving. This is the legacy and example she leaves for her children. Her love was there, steadfast, through all of life’s ups and downs.

She will be missed and we will keep her with us in our hearts and in our memories always.

Surviving are two sons, Ron Marcotte, of West Palm Beach, Fla., Daniel Marcotte, of Wakefield, Mass.; one daughter,Janice Marcotte, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Yvette Beaule, of Sabattus, Edna Woodbury, of Lewiston; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Marcotte was predeceased by her husband, Bertrand Marcotte in 1999.
