RUMFORD – Abused Women’s Advocacy Project will hold a community candlelight vigil in honor of Nancy Smith at noon Monday, Nov. 29, at Morency Park on River Street at the Gazebo. Also attending will be the Maine Silent Witness Project, an organization honoring women who have been killed in acts of domestic violence. Volleyball tryouts for girls
MEXICO – The Mexico Recreation Center is home to the Highlanders Volleyball Club, one of only two Junior Olympic Volleyball clubs in Maine. The Highlanders will be holding tryouts for girls in grades eight to 12 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 2, 7 and 9, at Mexico Rec Center. Gym fee is $2 per session; no experience necessary.
