FARMINGTON – Lucille Frances Hart, 76, passed away Nov. 20, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

She was born in Stratford, N.Y. on Nov. 30, 1927, the daughter of Earl L. Avery and Marion A. (Hayes) Avery.

She graduated from Stratford Regional High School in 1943 and she attended the Mildred Ellie Finishing School in Albany, N.Y. for two years.

On Oct. 23, 1945 she married Donald W. Hart.

She spent many years working as a school secretary in New York, New Hampshire, Virginia, and then in Maine. She worked in Special Services for SAD #9 and the Jay School System.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Bloomfield N.Y. She loved working with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as a leader. She organized a pom pom and drill team for the marching band through the school system, and a children’s theater program. She liked doing carpentry and making crafts to donate to the Franklin County Animal Shelter so they could raise money for the shelter.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald, of Farmington; a daughter, Cindy Stevens and her husband, Robert, of Farmington; a son, David Earl Hart, of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren, Travis, Avery, Shelby and Mallory Stevens, all of Farmington; many cousins; as well as her dog, Addie; and her cat, Winston.
