CHESTER, N.H. (AP) – With friends cruising the neighborhood and searching dark woods, a state police dog picked up the scent of a missing five-year-old girl and made a beeline for the family’s couch.

There, the relieved police and parents found little Samantha Siriano in a deep sleep, deep under cushions and blankets. She was fine, just tired.

Angie and Gary Siriano started the search Friday evening when they couldn’t find their daughter. She was missing for about an hour.

The search ended about 15 seconds after state trooper Dan Needham and his German shepherd partner, Hunter, got on the case.
