PARIS – A Rumford man was indicted Friday on charges that he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulted her, and thereby violated his bail conditions.

The Oxford County grand jury indicted Timothy L. Gotto, 44, of Rumford, on felony charges of aggravated criminal trespass and assault, and a misdemeanor charge of violating conditions of release for an incident that allegedly occurred last month in Mexico.

According to the indictment, Gotto, who is currently in Oxford County Jail in Paris, reportedly entered an ex-girlfriend’s trailer on Oct. 24 and assaulted her.

In addition, he was out on bail awaiting sentencing for previous convictions at the time, and a condition of his release was that he not commit a crime. The indictment alleges Gotto violated that condition on Oct. 24.
