TURNER – Tripp Middle School is holding its fourth annual wreath sale, and orders will be accepted through today, Wednesday, Nov. 24.

The wreaths are 14 inches, double sided with a red bow and cost $14. They are made in Maine. The wreaths can be purchased from any student or by calling 225-3261 or e-mailing jberry@msad52.k12.me.us.

Wreaths will be available for pick-up from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the school.

Benefit supper

TURNER – A benefit potluck supper will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the BQMC Hall, Route 219, North Turner, for Kevin Cullen, owner of Maple Lane Golf Course in Livermore. Cullen, a teacher at St. Joseph’s School in Lewiston, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma. He is under going treatment at a Boston hospital.

Cost will be $5 for adults; $2.50 for children 12 and under.

Drive for kids

WOBURN, Mass. – To make the holidays a little brighter for children living in domestic violence shelters, Verizon Wireless is conducting a “Kids in Need Holiday Drive” at each of its 56 communications stores throughout New England.

Each store has adopted a local domestic violence shelter to collect games, toys books and gift certificates for children ranging in age from infants to teens.

Stores located at 352 Center St., Auburn, and 203 Bath Rd., Brunswick, will serve as drop-off points for the drive, which runs form Nov. 15 through Dec. 15. All items collected will be donated directly to the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project on Dec. 15.

New, unwrapped toys, games, books and gift certificates will be accepted at the stores from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Club met on Nov. 22 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: Luke and Grace Merry; second, Mimi Bell and Cynthia Bonsey;third, Charles Bartlett and Claire Tewhey. Flight B winners were: first, Mimi Bell and Cynthia Bonsey; second, Charles Bartlett and Claire Tewhey, who were also first in Flight C.

East/West winners in Flight A were: Patricia Daley and Agnes Winn; second, Alberta Turner and Helen Little; third, Richard Allen and Donald Johnson. Winners in Flight B were: first, Patricia Daley and Agnes Winn; second, Della Starbird and Eileen Potvin. Flight C winners were: first, Joe Conley and Leonard Daley; second, Jeanne Plourde and Joan Bergeron.
